Problem Winterizing

I have a Tab 320, 2021 and I am having a problem winterizing it.  I drained all the water fro. the systems and I am now attempting to pump AF into lines.  I attached my hose to the left nozzle and turned knobs to winterize and then turned on the pump.  I hear the pump running but it is not creating any vacuum. I tried closing all water outlets and then opened one and that did not work.  I tried starting the pump with all water outlets closed and then opened one and that did not work.  I tried priming the pump by pouring AF down the hose and that did not work.  What am I doing wrong?  I called NuCamp and they did not help me.

Can I winterize the camper by just pouring AF into my hose with the hose hooked to the winterize nozzle?

@Karm - there have been several owners who have had the same problem.  The pump is not priming.  I believe the current recommendation is to pour AF down the short hose and blow into it while the pump is running.  I think that should get the liquid down to where it needs to be and set up a prime.

I had a similar problem this year....but only after I opened up a water line at the back of my Nautilus panel.  When I first filled the system with anti-freeze the pump worked fine.  Then I noticed two small leaks in the hose fittings under the seat.  I disconnected the fittings to inspect them, then reconnected them.  I tried to run more AF through the system to check the fittings and had the suction problem.  I primed the pump, let it run, then opened and closed a faucet until it started pumping.  I assumed that I let too much air into the system when I opened the lines...but then I wondered if the low friction properties of the antifreeze promoted the leaks and perhaps allowed additional slip in the pump.  I didn't have the problem last year and switch antifreeze brands this year.  I've never had the issue when pumping clean or sanitizing water.  Just a thought.
  • I wish they would just bring back the gravity fill outlet. Technology and new-fangled gadgets are great ... until they aren't.  I like the "old-school" design of my 2019 400. I like being able to see, touch, and directly manipulate my valves etc. and be able to pour water or antifreeze directly into the fresh water tank.
