Seems, a a minimum of a 2200 watt inverter type generator, like the Honda 2200i is the minimum size generator needed to run the Cool Cat AC. Adding a Soft Startdevice to the CoolCat allows a 2K genny to work. cheers

How hard is it to install the soft start? Is it a DIY project? I have that on my home AC for my whole house generator, so I'm definitely interested in getting it on the T@b as well.
@TabbyShack It’s extremely easy. It took me longer to tidy up the wires and reattach the ducts than it did to install the soft start. There’s a good video on the process on YouTube. I can’t seem to find the thread with the video linked.
@BlueYonder you were way faster than me! Maybe I spent too much time analyzing the wiring and and mounting location, but didn't want to say ah shoot I shouldn't have done that
It is a pretty easy job, simple hand tools and pay attention and almost anyone could do the job.
I bought a pack of WAGO 221 series lever-nuts for making the connections, why I haven't discovered these a long time ago is a bit if a mystery to me. Too bad NuCamp didn't use these instead of all the Scotch locks and butt connectors! Cost I suppose.
@SweetPea, you might try a good RV HVAC shop or maybe even a home HVAC service business, BUT I have heard the CoolCat isn't rechargeable if refrigerant leaks??
They might be a sealed one time use system from what I have read, but I haven't tried to get service, so speculation only based in my research. A new unit is around $1400, plus labor. They are even on Amazon as a commodity.
