ALDE Fan

I've looking everywhere and can't find anything that really mentions the ALDE fan other than getting a "fan failure message." What is it for and when should it be running?

@rcarlson1957, it is a combustion exhaust venting fan, which only operates while using propane for heating.  It blows out through the round vent on the driver's side wall of the trailer.

It is a fairly small fan in the Alde box.  This thread has a video of removal and install.
If you search for the Alde Service Manual, there is a description of the fan, troubleshooting, and some reasons that it fails. You can find it over in the Alde Manual section.

  • @bayliss You just answered one of the questions I was about to ask Alde tomorrow.  I wanted to know if the "fail fan" applied only to propane heating.  I read in a previous thread that you can blow with a compressor in the exhaust and it sometimes fixes the issue.  Is the exhaust the vent you are talking about where people use the compressor ?
