Seal Maintenance Under Exterior Plastic Trim?

I may have posed this question before but I don't think I got any responses. I'm hoping maybe somebody has some insight this time around.

While doing seal checks is there a reason to check under the plastic trim pieces that wrap both sides of the trailer? How are those junctions sealed? Removing those plastic pieces every year doesn't seem practical. I find myself constantly looking at the ceiling/wall junction for leaks inside.

It is my understanding the exterior plastic trim is decorative only. The seal is under the trim. Having said that the trim with the rubber gaskets serve to deflect water and keep rain driven water from reaching the seal below. No maintenance should be required unless you have disturbed the seal below the trim.

My service/repair  guy believes it does need to be resealed as the sealant get older.   I'm interested also to hear what others have to say about this.

Yeah, the plastic is indeed decorative trim but I wouldn’t count on that rubber seal to deflect any water. My assumption is that the plastic trim helps extend the longevity of whatever sealant is being used under it but at some point I’d think it would start to crack.

@manyman297 I agree-my  service tech told me last year that I should think about having  the sealant redone this year.  He said it wasn't really bad--but to be safe and stay ahead of it.  I purchased my Tab 320S used--it is a 2017, so every @ 4 years.

I need to remove the drivers side of the plastic trim for a front window replacement.  What's the trick to remove it?
    Thanks

I do not think you have to remove the trim to replace the front window, it just slides in over the trim.  There was a discussion about this a year or so ago.

Regarding front window replacement, there is a thread somewhere. I found it necessary to remve the roof trim on the driver side. First remove the screws holding the keder rail in place; then remove the screws hidden by the rail that hold the trim on. It would be interesting if pics of the roof / wall joint and sealant were posted. I do not recall if there is any caulking but a sealant applied when the roof and wall are joined. (Caulking is post applied ie over a gap in the joint and a sealant is part of the assembly.)
