drain fitting in fold down bathroom sink ( 2019 T@B400 model)

due to inadvertently unscrewing the plastic drain in the bathroom sink, the fitting in the base has disappeared somewhere inside the sink. Has anyone successfully taken the sink apart ( seperated the two plastic pieces that form the sink)? Also will be removing the single lever faucet and replacing it due to internal corrosion grinding shavings when the faucet is raised or lowered and I suspect will at some stage have to remove the entire sink and back plate from the wall but that will be a later project. Update: you cannot split the top and bottom of the sink apart. After removing sink fish the disconnected bottom fitting back up into the drain and screw the top fitting back down. Easier said than done, but with a whole load of patience and persistence worked for us. Changing the faucets over from kitchen to bathroom and installing new style of folding faucet(all metal no plastic) on kitchen sink is straightforward (but still necessitates removal of the bathroom sink first).

@peterjoce400 We did the same thing on our 400 (round fold down sink) last year and I could see no way to fish the corrugated drain tube back up and hold it to reattach the sink basin piece. You are to be commended for that. After we talked it over I removed the sink and replaced it with a wood panel and some additional towel rods. Here is the thread with pictures of the removal and BTW I still have the sink if you need parts I am happy to send you what you might need for the cost of shipping.

If needed here are a few more shots of the round sink from rear and the hardware that attached it. Not hard to remove.

If going to the problem of removing the sink, you might consider replacing the entire unit with the new square sink unit, which drains better as the drain line is a standard 1” or 1.5” drain line.

Bathroom sink came off easily, tap change of moving the kitchen to bathroom took a few hours, but mainly due to the fishing of the drain back into the bath sink bottom. All together now, no leaks (so far) and kitchen tap looks pretty good. This one came off of Amazon. Hans Peter, Nanaimo, Vancouver Island
