Broken, worn out, or lost T@B window clip?

Those little gray T@B window clips wear out fast and are always popping off in the middle of the night, breaking, or disappearing. Replacements in North America are almost impossible to find.
Guess what I found actually holds better... a standard 1¼" medium binder clip available almost anywhere office supplies are sold.
They hold the day/night screens together tighter and if you use two on each window there is little to no chance the screen and shade will pull apart when adjusting them... and if you do drop one it's much easier to find in your bare feet...

A lifetime supply is under 10 bucks... https://amzn.to/3BdIEJl Not as pretty but they work better.

That's great. I was really getting annoyed with my clips that keep falling off. Thanks for sharing.2022 Tab 320 Boondock

Office Depot caries those binder clips in a variety of colors if you need to match your decor.

Just stopped by the dealer to check out my new 2022 320 S before signing the papers last Thursday. The first thing I did when I stepped in and started testing some of the features was trying to use the window shade/mesh clip...which promptly popped off, bounced off the floor and out the door.
Haven't taken delivery yet, but once I do...going to be taking an extra close look at the OEM clips to see if it's worth the time to design and 3D print an upgrade (or at least, a replacement) for the OEM clips.
If it seems like the 3D printing route makes sense (and I suspect it will), I'll eventually post the files for it here.Northern VA

The number of times that questions are asked about window restringing and window clips, makes me think that being very very very careful of opening and closing the shades, going slow and taking care, not forcing or banging them around...is the best thing you can do to protect the shades.Oh: not to mention the threads involving various pets that basically can run right through the window and door shades.

I agree with you @pthomas745. We've had our 2021 400 for over two years and have never had a window clip break or pop off. We open them slowly and carefully and so far so good.2021 T@b 400 BD "Vixen Gail"

After five seasons we had a clip break. It’s normal

And, now that I have jinxed myself, I have no doubt I will go out and very very very carefully handle my shades, and...well, you know!

Of my 3 clips, one falls off (the same one each time) everytime we drive. As a newbie, I have just taken my 2022 trailer out for 2 trips so far. That window the clip keeps falling off has only been opened, maybe 3 times ever. Defective clip, I think. Swapped it to a different window, same clip falls off.2022 Tab 320 Boondock

Yes, sounds like a defective clip. The one on our front window came off after two years, and the galley window clip broke a year later. The rear Stargazer window clip still works, and it the one I would keep working. The other two windows, we open and close them shade or screen mode, not both, and the clips are not really required. If I needed to hold the screen and shade together for a tight seal, SLJ’s solution using the binder clips, would work just fine.Cheers2018 TaB400 Custom Boondock, Jeep Gladiator truck, Northern California Coast.

And when the tension threads or black cables come loose, how do you restring them? Not broken, just come loose somehow.

I'm in need of the same repair instruction. Two of the shade mechanisms in our 320 have failed now, rendering the shades unusable. Is anyone aware of an instruction on how to restring?2021 T@B 320S Boondock / 2022 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Sport / Santa Rosa CA

Try this link. There are other threads about this that may have some other hints, too.

We've both had a broken clip and broken screen string. We haven't replaced the clip- that window screen and shade fit tight enough so it's not needed. As to restringing the screen I methodically took everything apart and took a photo of the disassembled screen with its broken string. I used 50# test monofilament fishing line for the repair. I don't know how long it will hold up to sunlight, heat, and cold over time. EDIT: This isn't as difficult as I feared.
