WFCO WF-8735-AD + LiFePO4: FYI on annoying 'auto detect' quirk

I'm late to this conversation but I would not pull my unit or send anything back to them without trying the resistor fix. 1K ohm resistor across the first two terminals puts it in lithium mode. Nothing needs to be removed and it takes a few minutes to do. You can solder it or make a little jumper. WFCO sent me a pre-made jumper. It's a 5-minute fix, or at least it was my unit. Stupid design but it is what it is.

Well it's 2025 and apparently WFCO & Nucamp still haven't figured out that there is a problem that a simple 5cent dip switch/resister could fix.  My new Tab360 trailer with a Epoch Lithium battery is not recognized by WFCO as a lithium battery.
Is the only solution now to DIY it?  Does WFCO offer a service to fix there substandard engineering?
Hi, Does the inside cover of your WFCO have a sticker for "lithium batteries only".  Our 360 has  the 8955AD but has this sticker  inside.  That would seem to mean the mod. has been done?

It is a 8940AD and doesn't have a sticker maybe they figured out they better start using Lithium only.  Maybe yours is newer.

There does seems some difference in newer builds. Mine is a June 2025 build.  Maybe reach out to NuCamp warranty..maybe they will swap and  send you the other model directly to you or  your dealer.  Mine also came with 4AWG (vs 10AWG)  wire, which I've been wondering why.  This may be contributing to your charging issue.

Contact WFCO.  They were very helpful and updated my 2023 model 8735AD at no cost to me.

Shouldn't have to contact them. WFCO should have fixed this years ago. No one needs autodetect. No one keeps swapping different types of batteries back and forth. The switch worked fine. If "Autodetect" was suppose to be a marketing move it has failed. They're a bad design.
    It is what it is.
cschaepe is looking for a solution to their problem not an analysis of WFCO's or NuCamp's business practices.  This repeated criticism over and over through this thread is no help to anyone.
WFCO's customer service and technicians are very helpful.

If it's stated enough times maybe WFCO will fix it or nuCamp will finally put enough pressure on them to do something about the problem. Doesn't matter if WFCO's helpful about fixing a known problem the end user has if they're not correcting the design in the first place. Besides, others read this and should also be informed that WFCO's "Autodetect" isn't.  The report of someone having a sticker on theirs from the factory that stated "Lithium Only" is good news. Maybe it's starting to sink in.

We have WFCO's in the trailers for the same reason we still have 1990 Jensen capable units in the trailers: they are cheap and they fit.
Here is the thread from a year or so ago that explained the WFCO "jumper" fix and how to install it.
