External door grab bar - removal?

The grab bar on the outside of our 2019 320s Boondock door is pretty rusty. So, I tried to remove it for sandblasting and painting. I removed the screws but the thing won't budge. Has anyone removed one? Is it epoxied on or?

I've removed the standard white plastic handle.
It was held by screws and a double sided tape.
Heat might relax the tape + you could ask nüCamp for suggestions.

I also removed the white plastic handle from my 2019 320 CS. After removing the screws I had to gently pry it off. There was a sealant / caulking material holding it on. The sealant easily peeled off and cleaned up before attaching a newer and larger black handle. One of the 4 screw holes needed some work before attaching the new handle. I applied a new layer of clear sealant as well.

georgianwinds Where did you get the new black exterior handle? Have a link?

We replaced the clear lucite handle on our 2018 TaB400 with the new TaB Boondock grab handle.  Works quite well. The top screws covered the original mounting holes, and the lower ones were covered with stainless steel screws
