Water gushing out of water hook-up when using internal water pump

Gear = 2014 T@B:  OK, this one's bizarre.  When boondocking (in a park without domestic water), I fill the onboard tank and then use the pump for water.  It works, just, but then I discover that the pump is pushing most of the water out of that domestic water-supply nozzle outside.

Is there some sort of footvalve in the plumbing, that should prevent a reverse-water flow, that may be faulty?

Another possible symptom is that when on domestic water, and when I disconnect the hose, hot water squirts out of the nozzle when I disconnect it prior to leaving (yes, I open the taps inside the trailer).

Thanks in advance for any help.  I've done a cursory check on this forum and haven't found the like is any previous posting.

Cheers, and happy camping!

Bruce

Sounds like you need a new check valve in the city water inlet.
