Square Driver Screws Stripped?

I was about to uninstall the microwave in my Tab 400 and noticed that two of the square drive screws are stripped out.  Really strange to see square drivers stripped.  Has anyone else had a Tab delivered with this issue?

We'll see if my stripped thread removal tools work on them.

I agree, it’s really hard to strip those types of heads. Our issue was more with over-driven screws all over the interior cabinetry. I don’t know how many screw holes I’ve had to toothpick/glue to fix.
Somebody at the factory clearly had just learned how to use a driver. I build furniture as a hobby and you never really want to use a driver on many of the smaller screws they use in the interior. A simple drill with a clutch is all you need.

I did notice a few over-driven in the bed cabinetry.  Fortunately not too badly.

Our 2023 400 had the drawer under the bed come lose for that very reason. The screws that hold the rails were over-tight and had weakened the plywood. I just drilled them out and put in small bolts/washers/nuts. Can't do that everywhere, though.

Found a leak under the trailer because a few the screws holding splash cover up were driven in too far.

Yes this is a big disappointment to me. I’ve found overdriven/stripped screws all over our 2023 Tab 400. Sloppy work. Drawer locks most annoying.

In general, the pre-2,020 T@B's were better built - I only found one dangling screw holding one of the vent surround frames - all others have been good

You'd think that as many times as it's been mentioned on this forum someone at Nucamp would have addressed this (the overdriven, stripped screws).

NuCamp does not monitor the forums.

    Every.  Single.  One.
Nucamp used Phillips bits to drive/strip square-recess sheetmetal screws.

@Sharon_is_SAM So nobody that works for Nucamp looks at these forums?

I think even if they don't monitor, it might be a good thing and a courtesy to your NuCamp forum family that somebody going to U camp makes a note of these repeat problems and passes them along. We have a 2019 and it doesn't seem to be as common back then but we have a few instances of over tightened screws or screws screwed into nowhere. Like there's no wood behind them. That happened on our seat because they split our seat for us as a custom item and so it's attached on the left but not on the right in the back. Our dealer had to rework that for us so that we could continue to raise and lower the seat backs.

Agreed, @ColleenD2.  But it's hard for me to believe that nobody at Nucamp takes a peak at a customer forum-- one that is accessible from their own website.  Not necessarily for engaging, but at least for seeing recurring or current issues with their products.  If it was my company I'd make sure we monitored the forum.

Sorry for getting off the subject of the post!

They do not routinely monitor the forum.  The Administrators and Moderators do bring new issues to their attention.  We include links to passages in the forum that help explain an issue.
