New interior wood

I went to the camper show in Novi, MI yesterday to get a good look at the T@B360.  I love my 320S...but the 360 felt very 'roomy' and had some very nice features.

I looked closely at the plywood used for the interior trim and cabinetry.  It seems to be a decent quality plywood with a printed, wood finish vinyl coating.  Being a woodworker, I'm really glad I have the older, stained and varnished wood on my 320.  It just seems like a better quality and I like the fact that, if necessary, I could sand and restain any damage.  I suppose it's less expensive than the older style but it just 'feels' like a lot of other campers out there.

Any thoughts or comments?

Funny thing about this is that I was just reading comments from new buyers on Facebook. They're loving the interiors of the newer models and I'm sure will continue to be happy with them. Ignorance is bliss, but if you know, you know. ;)

I can't really say if one is better than the other.  It may actually hold up better than the stained/varnished version.  It just caught be by surprise.  I hope it's just as good!

It’s not as good, unfortunately. Over time and especially when subjected to the inevitable water spills, the vinyl covering will peel at the edges. That’s a bad look.

NuCamp, like most manufactures, is cutting costs. But I'd bet if they offered a "classic" version complete with the wood ceiling and cabinetry from the previous decade, people would be willing to pay more for it.

I would pay more!  The main reason that I purchased my 2021 320S is because I walked through one at a camper show in 2020.  After walking through dozens of various campers that day, the unique quality of the Nucamp products was undeniable.

I recently attended aT@B rally in Tucson and saw several newer T@Bs with the wood you describe. I also noticed the use of new drawer slides mounted on the underside of the drawers. They came to my attention because the owners complained of drawers falling out while traveling or drawers that were wobbly and would stay locked-closed. My 2019 400 has slides mounted on the sides of the drawers and operate well.
