CSS water tank outflow

Question: Does the outflow from the freshwater tank to the pump come from the front of the tank on all css models? This seems odd that it wouldn't draw from the rear of the freshwater tank -- a heavy lift for the pump. Has anyone put an outflow from the rear of the tank?

Where is the pump on  your CS?  

The photo below is what the water tank looks like in my 2017 "non" CS.  Pump in the front above the toilet.

This photo is from the front of the trailer under the tongue.  The step is to the left part of the photo, and if you look closely, you can see the fresh tank drain.  The blue pex coming toward the front of the trailer is the pipe that comes from the bottom of the tank where water is drawn out of the tank and up to the pump. From another thread in the Forums, that little setup looks like this, below. Taken from just under/behind the front step. There is only one "tank out" port, and then the pex is set up to both drain the water tank and send water to the pump when requested.  

So, I don't know where  your pump is, or where your fresh water tank drain is,  But, if the pump and the drain are in the same locations, this would be what to look for in a new water tank. Someone might have to configure the plumbing to connect the drain (or work out a more convenient drain location!).

@ Miwok - On your 2015 CSS, the CSS pump is in the rear galley under the counter.  I think I just assumed that they kept the same "tank out" position and ran the line to the rear of the camper.  Maybe not.

The pump in the 2015 css is in the back, beneath the sink in the clam kitchen. The outflow is in the front of the tank near the front, which is a long distance for the pump. Seems like a design flaw. I wonder if anyone has tapped the tank in the rear, closer to the pump.

My guess (and that's all it is) is that the original plumbing was configured for the much more popular non-CSS where the pump is in the front behind the toilet in the wet bath. Frankly I'm surprised they didn't just keep it there in the CSS models and make a longer run to the sink in the back. It seems like a lot of extra plumbing to run all the way back to the pump and then all the way forward again for the wet bath, but what do I know?

I'm not sure what year they changed it, but my 2013 has a water tank under the sink in the galley at the back and the pump is right next to the tank. It sounds like maybe when they switched the tank position they left everything else unchanged.

You all have us thinking about what likely happened and how we might 10 years later, reconfigure things. We think about retapping the tank in the rear, which would be closer to the pump. Now you have me thinking about whether there is space for the water tank under the sink . . . hard to imagine. It sure would make the rear of the trailer heavy. So much to think about.

I don't know how big your tank is but I'm guessing that mine is smaller. Maybe about 7gal. And I avoid traveling with the water tank full as it adds about 50# way behind the axle.
