Interior Improvements - for a change of pace

Tried out a new photo material a while back and thought I'd share.  It is called art peel and you can print a mural that is removable.  I rotate a few over the stove for a change of pace on the inside of the t@B (this one is dawn at Mauna Kea - the shadow is the mountain over the island and ocean just after dawn).  The material is nice because it is removable, allowing you to change up the inside whenever you wish.  I painted the walls of the DM T@B and swap between a few sunsets and sunrises.   Kind of nice when it is a rainy day.  These are 20X32.  If you are a photographer, I highly recommend the material (sold by breathing color).  I many end up doing an entire wall at some point.

I think others sell removable wall paper printing (I've got more than enough printing capabilities at home).

    Nice
My S doesn't have any blank walls except for the little bit under the Alde controller :-(

Sent this on to my photographer friends.  Great use of an otherwise blank space.

    That's pretty cool stuff mash2.

Most of their sizes are 'out of stock'.

How recently did you order from them?

    EDIT:
Never mind, I see that BHPhoto has it... oops, er, had it. Now discontinued...

    Thanks though. Looks like fun.

Hadn't look lately.  Sorry they're out.  The 24 by 50 was reasonably priced.  I wrote them about restocking it.  I'm almost out and would like some more.

I'll keep an eye on it then. They still have 44x50, and we actually do have access to a printer that wide, but I think I'd want to play with it a little, before I spent $160 on it.

What printer do you have?  I've got a canon IPF8300 (44").

It's at my son's workplace, and he just informed me it's only 24" (seemed bigger when he showed it to me!)  His is the IPF6400.

Pretty cool printers. We bought it to re-do the prints on the walls in 85 motel rooms. Cheaper than having them printed by an outside company.

What do you do with 44"!?!

I love large prints. I don't do my own printing― it is its own craft, but have printed 7' panoramas before. There is nothing like a large print to deliver impact. I have a 26.63" x 40.00" hanging in my living room, now.

I have been noodling on an idea for a graphic for the rear of them T@b for a while and would like to add it in the spring.  I have found  couple of places that can print it but might use a local sign company so that I can have them install it, too. I stink at working with sticky stuff.

Jenn, for me printing is part of the process.  Big prints are my passion.  Routinely do 5' panos and have gone up to 10' so far.

Chan, I routinely print on 36' canvas in my photo sales business (36" X 60"  prints).

I get that... it just isn't for me. It takes enough time to color proof prints. :D

Just got a message back from Breathing Color.  they do plan on continuing to offer art peel, but didn't have a time frame for when they will have it again.  I'll keep an eye and indicate when it is in stock again.

For you photographers, it is an interesting niche product for sales.  I have a couple installed with clients and it was a nice option to offer.

Jenn.  All part of image process for me.  I've create custom profiles for materials and have had no issue with proofing prints. But understand why you wouldn't want to bother.

I found that for me understanding the printing material allowed me to push final images a bit further.  At this point, I actually shoot and develop based on what material I will print on.  Find I think about material DMAX, I'll develop images with this in mind.  But my process for creating images is a bit complex (compositing up to 100 separate shots) and it requires I keep an eye on the end result as I move through four or five image processing programs.

Like I said, it's great for you, it isn't for everyone.
