    The 2gal plastic gas can I have seals tight - no gas fumes - Walmart cheapy. I have the Honda 2000i and it's gas cap also seals so no gas fumes - might be something to check on the Westinghouse. I carry both in the back of my Jeep.
    I'm pretty sure it uses the battery to fire each time it cycles on. It also uses the battery to run the circulating pump. How much juice it will take over time depends on your thermostat temp setting and outside temps.
