We have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 6 cyl gas engine. The car scarcely knows the t@b is behind it. I have no qualms about pulling the t@b through the mountains in Montana/Wyoming. It did just great so if you do not want a truck, it is another option. Mileage does drop considerably while towing to 12-16mpg. It all depend on road and weather conditions and how heavy I am with my foot on the gas pedal. I rarely tow over 70. I have taught myself how to relax and enjoy the ride. When we are not towing it gets 25-26mpg. The vehicle has 6200lb capacity, automatic leveling suspension, beefed up transmission, alternator and is prewired for brakes, charging wire, and all the usual stuff. If money were not a object, I would have gotten the diesel engine however. Frequently it runs in 6th out of 8 gear and if it was the diesel I suspect the additional torque would have been handy.
