Will Honda EU2000 fit on Outback front shelf?

Won't take delivery of our TAB MAX CS-S until Spring.  Ordered it with the Outback shelf on the front.  Will my EU2000 fit on the left side of the shelf?  Does anyone know what the measurement is from the side of the propane/battery pod to the edge of the shelf?  Excited waiting!!!!

Facing the TAB from the front, you can put a square object 20" wide (left to right) by 14" deep (front to back).

And if you put a five gallon gas can on the other side that would be in the neighborhood of 35+ pounds.

I have two 5 gallon plastic water jerry cans on one side of the Outback platform. One filled with tequila and the other vodka.

I know booze makes you light-headed but is it lighter or heavier than gas?

Water is over 8 lbs. while gas is about 6lbs. Per gallon. Vodka weighs 8lbs. Per gallon. Since they weigh the same, better to carry vodka.

I've found that if you carry 5 gallons of vodka, you find little need for food, change of clothes, and other items of personal hygiene. Maps and other directional devices can also be left at home. And most importantly, you won't care about tongue weight (trailer's - not that thing in your mouth).

Thanks for all the input .  I will check the effect on the tongue weight.  Do you see that as a problem for my jeep grand Cherokee tv?

Thanks so much for the input and especially the pictures. Got the eu2000 yesterday. Plan was to have it on the platform with the locking plate  I see the platform is too long to fit on the outback shelf. Maybe I can mount the security platform in front of the shelf on the toungue. Carry the gen in the tv and run it on the toungue/security plate with an extension on the exhaust.

Can the tub be moved 4" toward passenger side to accomodate generator and platform on drivers side?  Modify drivers side of tub to accomodate generator?  It's just aluminum.

I had this welded to the front of my 2013 LG 5W in front of the tray and was never worried about losing my Honda Generator. I plan to weld one in front of the bucket on my new Tab too....unfortunately I won't have the tongue weight to carry it while towing. However, when I get to camp I'll leave locked on the Tab. Of course not while it's running....just in case any thinks it's a good idea to have a generator running under your window.
