    Yes, as @ScottG sez, be sure to pre-chill your fridge before going out - 24 hours is good.

    And then we keep a couple of frozen bottles of water in there to keep it cold on the road.

    I have a 3 way fridge in a 2017.  My VW Touareg might take care of about 1/2 of that 11 amp draw from my stock battery.  So, every hour, I'm losing about 20 percent of my usable battery capacity.  So, on short drives, when I know there is plenty of sun waiting at the campground, I might run the fridge on 12V.  I've seldom done that, however.  The fridge, all by itself, is an excellent cooler.  Some ice bottles will keep it fairly cold.  I don't camp with much food that can spoil, so I don't worry much about it.  On propane at the campground, the beverages stay cold, the butter is too hard, and everything is good.
