CO Alarm

My 2013 T@B S is in storage and plugged in. The CO Alarm started to sound 1 beep about every 40 seconds. I've looked at the instructions and cannot find out what is causing this as the propane is turned off and the roof vent is open. Thank You.

Sounds like the battery. I'm assuming it's similar to a smoke setector or home co2 detector snd it has a 9 volt backup bsttery.

The battery is low when it starts to chirp. Did you disconnect your battery before putting it in storage?

It could also be an end of life beep. I had a house CO detector that failed after 3 years and chirped just like a low battery would. CO alarms generally have a end of life span of 5 to 9 years.

Ratty, I did not disconnect the battery as it is always plugged in.  Mudshark, End of life it says is 2 chirps and all lights turn red. Only light that is on is the power light.  Marknjudy, I cannot find a backup battery anywhere. I will pull the 12 volt battery and get a new one as soon as the weather gets better. Thank You for the ideas. trying to get ready for a camping trip next month.

DennisHemingway, sorry to ask a dumb question, but maybe it's the smoke alarm you're hearing?

If yours is configured like my 2015, the Atwood LPCO detector is powered by 12V from the battery/converter. There is no internal back-up battery that can be changed by the user. The manual says a chirp every forty seconds indicates a "fault" in some alarm function. However, it is not clear exactly what that means or how you correct it. It does state that a persistent fault necessitates replacement of the unit.

Mine has done this before when it loses dc power and then power comes back on. I think I reset it by pushing and holding the button on the front.  It is not immediate though.  I'll have to check the manual....

Dennis, my CO detector beeped  three beeps repeatedly.  I'm certain it was because I had blocked air circulation in the trailer.
