Not cool like yours, but we made t! Trip 1 just 45 min from home. Cold outside but warm inside on shore power. Thanks for giving me confidence and encouragement.

Skwhee... I did a similar trip this summer in reverse (I recognize many of the locations in your photos.)  Went from San Francisco to New York along the northern route (not up to boston this time)  then down to north carolina (Waynesville) crossing the southern route on the way back.

I would echo your comment on Burlington Campground... camping in old growth redwoods is breathtaking (though it is the only place I've stayed where I had to leave the inside lights on in the daytime because of the immense redwood canopy).  I go there often to recharge (since I'm about 3 hours from the park).

    Hi mash2,
Would you believe that even as we got within three hours of your home this summer, you got within an hour of our home in western NC! Perhaps we should try to meet up on one of our rambles!

We should meet in between .... I spent a bunch of time in southern colorado and utah (I know it's more than halfway.)  Actually, the halfway point is near Clayton Lake State Park in New Mexico, one of the best boon docking places that I stayed on my trip (my campsite was at least a quarter mile from the closest site...beautiful sunset).   I attached a small picture of the sunset... really beautiful solitude... highly recommended if you are willing to boon dock and they had a few hookups as well but the sites were not as stunning.

Balmorhea Texas four days Dec 2014 in the cold.  21 degrees at night but the T@B was always warm with the Alde.

Sorry SgtJohn but it looks kinda cool - I know it wasn't other than temps though.

I find the Alde does just fine at 20+ struggles a little down at 5-10 and depending on the wind, is inadequate below zero. How much wind is coming in by the fridge and air conditioner really affects things.

Helps to not have a 3 way fridge or an air conditioner.   I have the old heater and it's been fine down to about 10.

Note the refrig vent, I blocked it somewhat.

Brrrr. Very nice picture, though.  What type of spare tire mount are you using?

Well, while you are all out braving the elements, this is my view... Hanging around a couple of more weeks in my barn with the t@b , which is where you can find me most days, so technically this is my campsite...lol.

This took me to how to cook turkeys on an open fire.  I've already posted, but I think the size was wrong.

Jana, I hate when that happens and we don't need any cooked turkeys as Thanksgiving is over!

Check the link now as I cleaned it up and you should be all set.

As for photo size, attached photos should be approximately 800 pixels wide maximum for landscape photos and 600 pixels tall for any vertical shots you post.

Hi Jana, to post a photo simply click on the Attach image/file button above where you post, it is the one that looks like the page with the bent corner.  It will pop up with a window that has a few options:

    • You can just drag the image into the post and place it where you want it (what I will do this time).
    • Click the browse button to search your computer for the image, it will place the image wherever your curser is.
    • Or enter the url (web address) of the image if it is already stored somewhere else on the web (usually my preferred method as I store my pictures elsewhere).
Size no long matters with the photo, the site will resize it for you 8-)

BTW, here is where we were for half of January, Fort Wilderness at Walt Disney World.  Not a bad place to be in January :-)

Another one from this past trip to Fort Wilderness.  When you are in one place for this long, you have to set up the fountain 8-)
