sewer hose storage

Has anyone discovered a use for the useless "wana-be" sewer hose storage tube in the storage compartment? It is way too short for anything I use. I was thinking of getting a real hose storage tube and attaching it to the frame in front and getting rid of that little tube in the propane compartment. That will give me a little more storage room. Ideas?

That little tube works great for me - the angled dumpstation end of the hose nestles in the top and the rest of the hose curls up on top of the battery box. It's not ment to feed the whole hose into :-)

Ill try that

Type "sewer hose" in search box in upper right and several storage mods show up.
Some on the tongue frame and at least one underneath in the back.2015 T@B Max S (White/Silver) -> 2014 Ford Escape 2.0L (turbo, AWD, factory tow) -

I use it to store the "wanna-be" sewer hose that came with it (which thusfar works quite adequately for what it needs to do). I even took the trouble to relocate it when I needed just a bit more room for my group 27 battery.

After I installed a sewer hose storage tube on the tongue frame as described in one of the links TabberJohn mentioned above, I still had to figure out what to do with the end fittings that wouldn't fit in the tube. After shopping around at my local home improvement store, I found an offset adapter for a plastic drain tile system that just fit in the open end of the tube installed in the storage compartment of the T@B. The small end of the adapter fits into the existing tube (with a little coaxing around the rivet) and the larger end of the adapter allows the sewer fittings to set inside. The offset prevents interference with the wall of the storage housing and the added height almost touches the storage unit cover when it is closed so the fittings don't bounce out. The pictures below show how this all works. Key to making this work is how you nest your particular fittings in this new small storage space.

I probably should have included this in my previous post. Below is a source and more details about the drain tile adapter I used. I'm sure any local well stocked home improvement store would have something similar.

I added a 4" hose piece (about 8" long) at an angle behind the battery in the corner. One end of my 15' hose goes into that and the other end (with right angle fitting) fits into the hose that comes with LP cover. This way the hose is kept aside allowing access to battery without removing hose. It serves to cover both ends and drain out of trailer compartment, and allow the rest of hose to lay inside the compartment but held firmly in olace and out of the way. Mine just lays coiled up on top of the battery - About the only time I ever have to get at the battery is to check the fluid and I just do that on occassion when I'm at a relaxed, non-busy dump station. I do secure the one end of the hose via ball bungie so it can't flop around.
