Mandt, there is a difference between insuring for full replacement coverage where you have a completely separate policy from your home or auto, vs having your liability covered by your auto. Look at the difference between a Progressive Policy and a State Farm policy to see the difference. As I understand it, if your auto policy covers your liability, then you are only covered for trailer contents etc when you are hitched to your car. If you have a full value replacement policy, you are protected while stationary or hitched. The price will reflect the expanded coverage.
Ours is $11 per month through state farm. It has replacement coverage for theft, $250 deductible comprehensive but I don't know other specifics without looking at the policy description directly

Check with Progressive. Our independent agent recommends them for RVs. Make sure they know it's a travel trailer, not a motorhome. A motorhome would need liability coverage.

Alabama Farm Bureau is 118 a year. Yes, my liability is with my vehicles when it is towed, but comprehensive and collision coverage is there whether it's hooked to my tow vehicle or not.
