How Can I Not Get Notified When...

Hi Peeps... is there anyway to set a discussion so I don't keep getting emails saying that someone posted something?  I might have commented on a post and got my answer, but then I keep getting notified via email.  Example, today I got 6-7 emails regarding a conversation between 2 people that didn't even relate to the post.  I would love to be able to turn it off at will...

@marilyncp, Go to the gear at the top right, click on it. go to edit profile. On the left you will see notification preferences. Change the ones you want to change for being notified. That should take care of it. Make sure you click on the "save changes" box. Did that work for you?
