After reviewing MarkHelman's external AC exhaust mod, I decided to modify the thought a bit. I purchased the plastic vents he described, but, being old and forgetful it would only be a matter of time before I forgot to remove them before towing. Which would result in buying two new vent covers. I assumed the intent is to separate the hot exhaust from the incoming cooler air. While examining the system I noted that there is a considerable gap between the AC unit and the outside vent. So, I opted to fill the gap. Testing will have to wait until the temps get back up in the 90s.

May I suggest adding something like this . To help direct the hot exhaust air away from the center intake. They are Not permanently and are removed for travel. We have used them for 3 years. I believe they increase efficiency by as much as 50%. By the way nice wood working .I took kind of a short cut..
@BrianZ That was an early digital TV antenna I was testing. I found it at a dollar store in Lake Havasu AZ. Actually worked pretty good. Later I replaced it with an Omni directionl one with a 12 volt amplifier.
