well...apparently it was a mud dauber in my air conditioner preventing the fan from running-so the obvious question-how do I keep wasps out of my air conditioner??
Remove the roof vent cap, install a piece of screen & replace cap. Also check the big A/C vent on outside wall to make sure the screen is secure all around. Ours had one corner that was loose due to foil tape coming loose. Had to remove it & repair using white duct tape, replace & recaulk. Installed magnets for a cover too.

@kaylevine1, you can use this screen to cover your rooftop A/C vent (the black plastic cap over the vent is held in place with a single screw and plastic tabs as seen in the photo below):
well-I got the round screen ordered-do you think if I get some cut to fit mesh bug screen-either metal or fiberglass I could glue that to the inside of the large side metal vent-would it allow enough airflow??
I see the round black roof air vent is right near the side and I should be able to get to easily when standing on a ladder-me and my screwdriver should be able to put it on myself
@kaylevine1, I am not sure exactly which opening you are referring to (maybe the A/C vent, which has a screen?) However, take a look at the below thread in addition to that posted above (both started by @BrianZ) for some ideas. There are similar discussions on covering openings with screens on this forum. Just use some keywords in the search box at the top of the forum pages to see what you come up with. By the way, the round screen you purchased is the same (or very similar) to that now used by nüCamp for the roof vent. You may want to use a thin bead of some silicone or other adhesive to hold it in place.

The large AC exhaust vent comes standard nowadays with metal mesh screen attached to the inside with aluminum tape. If yours somehow doesn’t have that, it should be an easy fix.

so climbed up on ladder Sunday AM n put the screen over the air conditioning vent-snapped into place-didn't even need screwdriver to get cover off-it also had little clips that just snapped back on-seemed secure so I didn't bother with glue
