Dump Valve Handle Replacement

Earlier this season, half of the plastic T-handle on my grey tank dump valve snapped off. It's still perfectly functional so I haven't bothered with it, but I'd like to replace it eventually--maybe with a metal option.

Does anyone know if the handle is a screw-off, screw-on replacement? If so, do you know the thread size, or a particular replacement that you know fits? Thanks!

I just checked a Valtera 1 1/2" blade valve I have laying around.  The grey handle threads onto the metal shaft and can be replaced.  The metal shaft attached to the plastic blade will spin, but not come off the blade.

Looks like I am in the same boat with a half-broken handle. From the looks of the design and the distance between it and the left front support jack, at some point they made contact. The result was part of the handle was broken off.

I think Scott is on the right track with a metal handle vs. plastic especially with it being close to the jack support. I am likely going to replace it with a metal handle. With that said, any recommendations for a supply source?

TYBladesmith, thanks for the excellent link. I have ordered two handles since I have two dump valves on the T@B320S that I have. I consider that the other dump valve handle could be a liability even though not near anything but the front left side of the frame. If it is plastic it will break at some point.

When this happened to me, I repaired it with some JB Weld epoxy glue that I had on hand, and it's very strong, like new.  That said, I'm keeping a metal spare, just in case.

I've also used the JB Weld on other plastic parts, like the roof vent cover for the A/C air intake that got ripped off by a low hanging tree branch.  That's like new too.  Great stuff to have.

I went ahead with complete replacement of the handles since it was likely over time that age would factor in for the plastic and that it will become brittle and subject to breakage.

My black tank handle broke this week and it is marked as threaded. Brand is Bristol. Can get a replacement handle (plastic) on Amazon, but it appears that metal ones aftermarket also fit on the threaded shaft.
