Loud water pump

Is it normal for the water pump to sound like a jack hammer?

@webers3, if you add some water pipe insulation foam around the shower water pipes (behind the panel to the left of your television), you can reduce a lot of the "jack-hammer" noise.  The padding prevents the pipes from banging against the wall when the water pump is operating.

Ours was sounding like that. We cleaned out the filter attached to the left side of the pump. There was some debris in it. Can't hardly hear it at all now.

If there is rigid piping in/out of the pump, you can also install some flexible hose on both sides of the pump, and some rubber isolation washers (if not already present) to help quiet the pump.
