Auto Fan Function on Air8

Has anyone tried the automatic fan function in Cooling Mode with the new Air8 air conditioner?  In that mode, mine runs the a/c for 3 minutes, shuts off completely for 2 minutes, the back on for 3, off for 2, etc.  trying to determine if this is normal function or not. Seems very strange.

    I would think that constant on and off would be very hard on the compressor
