1st Trip-Grand Canyon

My maiden voyage was to Bryce and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, hoping to catch some photos with lightning. Photographed with drizzle and intermittent storms, but never captured the lightning. Spent 6 days on the road, all went well except my frig froze all my food. Guess it cools really well.

Beautiful pictures Tom. I really like your camper color. I don’t see many in that shade of color.. Have to watch the fridge temp. It has a tendency to do that. My wife wants to see the Grand Canyon. My buddies gave me some reading material... I’m not sure about this trip...

Biggest danger today is all the other people (crowds and crazies) Three days before I was there less than 20 yards from where I was photographing a lady was struck by lightning. Luckily bystanders performed CPR snd saved her life.

My former insurance agent was nicest guy in the world. I sold my last touring motorcycle to him, and we'd been with his office for decades. Sadly he was near an edge of the rim a few years ago to get a good photo, and the ground gave way. Be careful out there!

I just did a rim to rim to rim 5 day backpack in the Grand Canyon in May. Thank goodness I didn't read the book "Death over the Edge" until I got home. I actually really enjoyed the book. Great reading. I live in Arizona so we go to the Canyon frequently. Plan a trip, you won't regret it.

I live and work 90 minutes from the canyon at the hospital where all the wonderful people come who have been injured during their visit. If you are going to hike the canyon, the best food believe it or not, is potato chips! Lots of sodium! Bring lots of water and know your limitations. Not enough time or room here for all the wonderful and funny stories of patients I have taken care of.

I think the color is called burgundy.
