I mounted hose carriers like Mercator, but I have the 320 Outback with the Yakima rack mounted on the back. Just mounted there (I have two as many sewer hookups are far enough to require two hoses).

@ScottG, don’t give up!  I have lost items out of the tub before. @ericnliz that vent wasn’t the only thing left on I-90 on the way to Lincoln Rock this year! @seitzmike I used pvc pipe and it works just fine!

having a platform does make it a little difficult to dump the gray water tank, but not impossible.  I love the platform for the extra storage.

I put my hoses in a mesh laundry bag and put that in the propane/batt box.

DO you know how much weight this added to the tongue?

@ELK it couldn't have added more than 3-5lbs total. The expanded steel bottom is the heavest part. Everything else is aluminum including the hinge.

@ELK, we have the "pricey" kit, previously sold by the teardrop shop, created by one of our forum members. Husband says kit, hoses and attachments weigh approx 8/9 lbs. Our installation is slightly larger than the one pictured above because it is made for the "plastic" front tub, which is smaller than the diamond plate one. This is negligible as far as weight goes, unless you are extremely tongue heavy. We love it, the expanded metal on the bottom allows for ventilation and lets everything dry so there is no odor. In wet weather, everything gets washed. I think this is the best stinky slinky storage solution ever. -Denise

Not too much. I love the idea...I am just skittish about adding weight to the tongue. My TV is rated to pull 3500lbs...but only 165 on the tongue.

@ELK, what do you tow with and what is your hitch class?

It looks like you have a class 2 hitch (I just did a quick search).  Looks like your car came with a factory tow package with a built in hitch.  Not sure if you can change that.

Expanded wire with strapping that is spot welded around the edges. Attach underside panel to tongue with self-tapping screws. Top panel is attached with hinges and hasp. Cut a hole in the top panel to allow electrical harness to be able to connect to automobile.

Nicely done!  And your hose gets washed when it rains😊. How do you prevent the lid from popping open?  I don’t see a latch.
