Testing Alde heater in hot weather

Getting ready for a trip to Yosemite where it's still in the low 40's at night (and no shore power). Thought it would be a good idea to test the Alde. Set the 3010 sliders to gas and heat and turned the knob to 5. Heard the Alde fan come on and waited to hear the pump to start and check to make sure the glycol hoses were nice and hot. After about 10 minutes the fan turned off and all was quiet. Finally realized the knob is a thermostat and since it is pushing 80° right now that the Alde is not going to come on. Am I correct???

I replaced the internal negative fuse last fall  (https://tab-rv.vanillacommunity.com/discussion/6398/alde-heat-while-winterized#latest) and it worked fine, but we have never actually used it since then.

Sounds correct.  It will still heat the Alde chamber, just won’t circulate.  If you have water in the Alde tank, it should be hot.

Thanks - Still winterized, but I heard the little tinkling sounds of things heating up so I'm pretty sure everything is OK and we'll be nice and cozy at night. :)

If you have access to shorepower,  maybe turn off the Alde, then turn on the ac and chill the cabin, then retest?

There is an 'emergency start' mode for the Alde, that bypasses the control panel. It's talked about in this thread:

@Sharon_is_SAM - cooled off enough last night for the Alde to work just fine.

@ChanW - That emergency start procedure is good to know.

    Thanks.
