@dragonsdofly while I’m sorry we missed you I’m excited that you are having such a great trip! Crown Point/Vista House is worth seeing! It was the very first official rest stop in the new cross country highway system. When you’re there, on the lower level is a plaque commemorating the four families who donated the land for this State Park. My grandfathers’ name is one, and his daughter, my Aunt Julie, led the drive to make this plaque happen. A few years back. @Homebodyatheart, et al., thanks for the suggestions. We are exploring Cascade Locks at the moment. This river and surrounding valley are gorgeous! Mt. Hood, spectacular. Enjoying it all! Et al. Today, Monday August 19th, finds us back home and life returning to normal, the husband is back working, tomorrow school orientation begins and I'm working through a mountain of mail.
