Water Tank Fill Port

Getting ready for a short maiden voyage in my 2015 T@B-L, I've been testing out all of the components in my driveway. Yesterday I went to fill my on board water tank but couldn't open the white plastic door. I've pushed pretty hard on the bottom, which is marked "push to open" but it doesn't budget. I don't want to push harder and break it, so am looking for a tip or two before calling my dealer and having to make a trip to get it repaired. All clues about opening it are welcome. Thanks!

    Hi , DABWCA   I have a 2015 T@B -L Max..  mine was hard to but I got it opened..  put both hands up aganst side push with both thumbs.. or a good rap at the bottom does it.. hope it works..  Manny  2015 T@B -L Max

    I accidently broke mine and have replaced it with this one. It gets reviews as being much easier to fill. It comes in white or black.

    Yep, they take a lotta pressure the first few times. Thought I'd break ne the first time also but it did give. Nice even, strong pressure across the bottom.

    Mmmmm! So that's three T@BBers who had issues, with two successfully pushing hard until the door opened and one door that failed. I wonder what others have experienced.

    Stiff but works. May change it just because I don't like the stiffness.

    I didn't consider it an issue - just took more pressure than I expected.
    Would rather have it tight than opening and collecting dust and debris.

    Now if I could just get the little rubber cap to stay on the water hookup I'd be a happy camper. Gotta find my blowout connector and just screw that on an leave it.

    PXL, you can get a tethered screw in plug to replace that silly cap that doesn't stay put. Maybe Camping World. Probably Amazon.

    I think most of them are a little stiff at first, as mine was.  They tend to loosen up a bit with use.  I cleaned mine really well to make sure dirt/grime wasn't making it stick, then gave it a little film of lubricant.  Someone suggested using a thin coat of Vaseline (Mike, I think) since it is non toxic.

    I replaced my filler port with one like Jenn has, it has a cap that seals tight and should be easier to fill when using a water jug.

    Iamjudy, I don't think that the spring tension is adjustable, the rubber "springs" are probably just getting a little tired. Maybe, you could have a spacer put in between the axle and frame.

    @RangerTom Since Nücamp now wants us to order parts from dealers, your best bet might be ordering the one @jkjenn and @JandJ92010 replaced their original ports with, if it looks like it will fit. Might even cost less .

    That is the one! The one thi g I dont care for is thatbis has yellowed with age. Next year a black one will replace it.

    Out of curiosity...when traveling to a place that has a water connection, do you fill the tank with some water or prefer not to add the extra weight when traveling?

    No need to add water/weight if you will have a city water connection.
