New owners and questions on upgrades

Hi Folks,

We have been enjoying our 2019 T@B 320 S so far. We have had some questions on upgrades and wondered if you guys have ever done any of these with success?

1. Cushions seems way to hard for comfort. For sleeping we have tried a 2 inch memory foam topper, helped a little but still very hard to sleep comfortably. The same is true with just sitting and watching TV, butt get sore after 30 minutes or so. I know comfort is pretty subjective but I was thinking if I bought a memory foam mattress that was the same thickness of the cushions I could cut it the same size as the cushions and zip off the covers and replace the foam inside?

2. Outside AC cover? I have seen the diamond plate AC cover, not really my style though. Is there any other options for a plain looking cover for the outside AC vent?

3. Can we easily upgrade the TV in the camper to one slightly bigger? It would be nice to have one with more HDMI inputs and 1080p, Not sure if this TV uses just a standard bracket and wiring? I'm guessing the power is going to be a challenge as most TV use that standard black plug for power.

4. Alde 3020 Hot water, We tried the shower and found that the hot water moved around alot from barely warm to pretty warm. (Every 5-10 seconds or so) never really stayed consistent. We adjusted the mixing valve to various settings and the water certainly gets hotter, but never seems to stay around one temperature even right at the beginning of a shower. I read about possibly needing to reset the air cushion in the chamber, maybe that has something to do with it?

Thanks!

    Welcome!

    2. A guy on FB uses a boat door watch and it looks really nice. Other people use plexiglass.

    4. You probably need to adjust your Alde mixing valve: https://youtu.be/nJR-DlZuYlE

    Welcome!

You can also order a snap-on vinyl cover from your dealer. My vinyl cover stays on my 400 about 6 months out of the year, but I do live in my 400. .

Side note, I just called Nucamp to get the vinyl cover part number so I can order that, however they wouldn't give me the part number for the lock cylinder for the propane tub as its a legal issue. Totally fine, we'd only be locking it while stored. Does anyone have the part number for the lock cylinder or have some other idea for locking the propane tub while being stored?

I am sure you can find a lockable turn latch to replace the lever style latch (kind of like on the baggage door) . You will just have to remove it to see what you are working with to order something .

Please do a forum search for solutions for cushion comfort.  It has been thoroughly discussed.  Many options.

    Regarding the hot water:

We have been turning the mixing valve hotter and hotter and the water does get very hot, our issues is that it doesn't stay hot, it keeps fluctuating.

    Regarding cushions:
Rather than replacing with solid memory foam, I’d try to find a custom cushion shop in your area. They will be able to suggest the appropriate cushion material/density for you and you’d be able to try various options. Sometimes it involves layering different densities. If you’re going to spend the money, might as well get professional help and do it right.
For sleeping I use an Exped Megamat over the original cushions and it’s as comfortable as my bed at home, but not everyone wants to go that route💰

    Regarding the TV:
I’d stick with a 12v TV but I think that some people have swapped it for a bigger AC (household current) TV. You would probably want to check the information about the mount used in your trailer to be sure you don’t install a TV that’s too heavy for the mount.

@Omniphil - did you read the link?  It takes more than just turning the valve.  Check out the secret hand shake😀

I certainly did read the link, but that controls the temperature of the water. I tried it and the water is certainly hotter, but the temperature still does not stay consistent all that much. Maybe its just one of the quirks of the system.

@Omniphil, there have been reports of mixing valve defects.  Also, I wonder if it has anything to do with the shower head shut off?
