Hot Heads, Cold Feet.

Since it's getting colder up here in the north, we have been using the Alde heater. It's a great heating system but I have one issue that I will like to hear some advice. 
From wheel to wheel or head near the cabinets and feet by the alley, the heat kept waking me up middle of the night. Don't get me wrong, great heat, but...

    Some use a small air circulation fan, but I prefer to go with a thick sleeping bag (weighted comforter?) on a camping mat with head near the cabinets.  Then we set the Alde temperature low enough that the heat near the head isn't that warm.  Saves electricity / propane that way too.

    Too hot or noisy?  Did you calibrate the Alde thermostat?  Do you crack the front window?

    Thanks DougH, I have been so spoiled by the camper that I have forgotten the basics.

    Sharon_is_SAM, I usually just popped the fan cover open. After that I would definitely not hearing any noise from the Alde.

    We found that if you have any draft near the Alde display, it will make the Alde run more, and we woke up too warm, too.  So, we started just cracking the front window to prevent condensation and no more midnight hot flashes😜. Make sure you check the Alde display temperature against another reliable thermometer.  It may need to be tweaked.

    Thanks for your info, Sharon_is_SAM. Having another thermometer somewhere else makes sense. Like DougH said, I might have had the thermostat set too high.

    We found we couldn't sleep with the Alde on at all, because it heats the underside of the bed. Way too warm.
    We sleep wheel to wheel (actually a bit kitty-corner), and use a nice thick comforter.
    There's nothing like sleeping in 5 below weather!

    Yeah ChanW, slept with my good old Coleman 0 degree sleeping bag the other day with the heat down a bit, much better! Thanks!

    On our 2017 Tab 320-S, I set the thermostat to 62 and put all 3 windows open to the "latchable position" which allows some air movement and it works perfectly. Temp stays around 64 and there isn't any humidity to deal with. I found if I open the roof vent that the cool air coming in keeps the Alde on all night. It gets very hot and there are also moisture issues to deal with. I finally figured this out while in the mountains over Thanksgiving.
