Alde Automatic Drain at 38f?

Apparently the Alde can have an automatic drain in cold temperature? Not sure if this is standard or optional from Alde? Anybody know if the yellow drains that NuCamp uses has this feature?

Quoted below from Alde:

Frost protection

Frost protection is a drainage/safety valve that automatically empties the hot water when there is a risk of frost (around +38 °F).

Also acts as a safety valve against excess water pressure, and as a manual drainage valve.

I found that online, about the Alde 3010.  It must be optional as we have had a full Alde water tank at and below freezing and it did not self discharge.  They must have a temp probe/thermostat attached.  Something new?  Email Service@Alde.us and ask.

I assume the temp would be measured in the tank itself. I don't think I'd want my Alde to automatically dump its contents while the outside temp is still a balmy 38F!

This drain feature is an optional valve that replaces your current yellow valve or valves, so the temperature is measured at the valve. Easy swap, just two screws and the fittings. I will inquire as to cost and then update so all info is here in the thread.

After some additional e-mail with Alde USA, the valve is actually a Truma part and here is a link to it. Looks big to fit in available space on the NuCamp products. https://www.truma.com/web/downloadcenter/files/truma-watersystems-frostcontrol-operating-en.pdf

I don't think I will be doing this mod, but may inquire on pricing at some point later.

Also of note is Alde USA is in process of co-locating to Elkhart, IN with Truma. I know on other threads the move was mentioned, BUT I don't know that it was mentioned as to details. Truma makes a similar unit to Alde. Does this mean anything? Let the speculation begin :)
