Taillight

One of my taillights on my 2018 nucamp is out.  I took the cover off expecting a simple bulb...it was a small panel of tiny lights.  Where do I find such a replacement and how do I replace it?

If your TaB Boondock is under warranty, contact your dealer to have them arrange for replacement.  If out of warranty, contact your dealer to have them order the parts and you can choose to have them replace it or DIY it.

Here is a thread right up your alley:

LED lights are very reliable.  You might want to check the wiring before ordering a new light.

Klenger is correct, rare for all the LEDs to go out at once. If the light does need to be replaced, you don't have to remove the grey plastic housing surrounding the light. With the red lens off, you should be able to pop out the section with the LEDs from the plastic black housing. You can find replacement lights for $25 each, but you'd need to replace both so they match. Or go the dealer route and pay $60 for one.

Danner - Out of curiosity, I ordered the $20 replacement LED on the Internet.  I'll compare it to the $60 unit purchased from Missouri Tear Drop and let you know if they are compatible.  Should take about a week.

    $20 replacement taillight arrived today.
$59 replacement I purchased from T@B dealer in first photo:

$20 replacement from superbrightleds.com below.  Note wires still attached to $59 light hanging down out of view.

Housing that comes with light is not needed (see arrow).  LED round fits into factory housing.  Also, no need to remove the grey trim pieces around the light.

Back of $20 light.  This is the only piece that gets replaced:

Summary - the new light fits perfectly.  The swap-out takes less than 15 minutes.  The look is completely different, so both taillights would need to be replaced at the same time (18 LEDs vs. 9)  Model TLS-R17HF-R, superbrightleds.com.

Are those circuitboards weatherproof? The Tab's trim doesn't protect the back of the fixture from the elements too well...

My 2018 T@B left LED stop light was intermittently failing....mostly not working.  I keep thinking it was the 7 pin connector but finally traced it down to a faulty LED tail light.  I found an exact replacement which is Kaper II L15-0022 Red Trailer Stop/Turn/Tail Light.  Fount it on Ebay for $33.50 at https://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Combination-Tail-Light-3-1-2-Round-Stud-Mount-1-Right-Passanger-Side-Light/131297547713?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649.

I missed grassgd's comment above, but I too discovered the exact replacement for my 2016 T@B S (or 320S).  The clue was a part number stamped on the light housing (see photo).  The stamp is "KIIL15-0021".  I found my replacement part on Amazon.

Do you still have that Amazon link?  (it would be in your order history).  I've looked up the KIIL15-0021 on Amazon- but nothing similar is coming up.

I ordered the TLS-R17HF-R lights from superbrightleds.com. They come as a kit now, with a price for the two of $47. With shipping and tax it's still less than a single replacement from NuCamp of the OEM light (but more than a single light from eBay).

I have an intermittent failing right brake light, plus some of the LEDs in the OEM light have quit working. I'm a bit apprehensive this will fit because the original light is listed as 3.5", and the new light is 4.0". Hopefully it will be a simple wire splice and replacement.

I replaced the left tail light with the OEM replacement years ago. Maybe a different brand will be more reliable.
