    @Cbusguy, in 2018 we traveled out to Moab and the SE area of Utah mid-March and returned mid-April.  Check when Jeep Week occurs before you go.  The population of Moab expands dramatically during Jeep Week.

    Just spoke with my cousin in Bakersfield CA and he said their governor is saying the end of May for the peak in California.    Doesn't look good for summer 2020.

    If you go to particular NF web pages you will see the relevant information.  https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/willamette/alerts-notices/?cid=fseprd717752  This one is for Willamette and states closed until September 30th.  Go to www.nps.gov for the national parks, many are closed.

    Here in NC all the state parks are open to walk in...  No facilities, campgrounds or visitor centers.  Our NF are closed to recreational activities, as is Great Smokey NP.

    Good luck getting on to the Outer Banks unless you live there.

    Look at the peaks for each state in the link I posted above.  It is updated regularly.  No state is close yet.  This will get ugly before it gets better.  

    Hunker down, enjoy your inner introvert.  This too will pass.

    Recently-ish park reservations have been grabbed by scalpers, for the lack of a better word. They would buy sites and sell them on various online markets. If no one bought them, they could cancel and get all or most of their money back. The rude cancellation policies put a dent into this practice.

    Hmm...be kind. It's nice to hold on to the plans but don't just think about your destination. The "getting there" requires a commute through communities where people are trying so hard to prevent occurrence and spread of the virus. A migration of transients headed for Moab or Joshua Tree (now closed) is not only unwelcome, it's dangerous. The fact that 25% of the carriers of this disease do not show symptoms makes you and your caravan a possible virus factory. You cannot get from point A to point B without buying gas, using the toilet, buying food etc. Many communities have banned owners of second homes from visiting and asked them to leave or not to arrive. The rural areas we all have plans to visit often do not have enough infrastructure to handle illness for their local communities, never mind folks from other areas. Health systems cannot handle the influx of added ill people. Hang on to the reservations/plans but think past those plans and consider alternatives. This is not a business as usual situation this summer.

    On Facebook if you are on Facebook, the most up-to-date info is on the group ÜCamp.

    But there have been no updates since mid April. There is a wait and see attitude as with most of us and our summer camping plans.
