So many choices out there it's difficult to narrow the field.
That said, I've gone with a pair of these:

Went with these:

Lounger is nice, but heavy and takes up a fair amount of room in the TV.
So, we also got a pair of these:

I went with one of these:
Paired with an inflatable footstool:
I’ve had a reclining lounger like your first one since the 90’s. Super comfortable, but too big to haul around. This setup pretty much mimics my favorite living room chair for comfort, but lightweight and fairly compact. Unfortunately not field tested beyond the front yard yet this year, but it does great when chatting with the neighbors during our socially distanced culdesac happy hour. Way more comfortable than any previous camp chair I've owned.2019 320s BD Lite, white with blue (“Haven”)

Almost went that direction.
And I agree...the loungers are really nice but too heavy and bulky. Will give the Director chairs a whirl and if not happy, may give your a whirl.2020 T@B 400 "OTTO" (build date 08/19)

It’s not perfect—two pieces to carry, plus in my case an outdoor pillow for lumbar support. But it is remarkably comfy for lounging in.AirBoss said:@VictoriaP

We have a about 6 chairs currently...no recliner...too big..we take whichever chair meets our trip needs...longer trip get the super comfy "Kuma"...similar to @VictoriaP...our inflatable ottomans have been travelling with us for 3 seasons..even made some slip on covers for them to coordinate with chairs/window awnings..the other 2 styles are like @AirBoss second pic...and then the last are some collapsible Colemans that stash in a bag...Former 2017 T@G Max XL

A couple of years ago I bought a "fishing chair," a type I can't seem to find any more. Just a simple chair with front legs that adjusted up and down, adjusting for the angled edge of a stream, etc. On level ground, you could adjust the legs out and tilt back, no rocking, etc. It is the perfect stargazing/meteor shower chair. And, it is just a chair......

Hey. @pthomas745, search on “fishing chair wit foot rest” . Big Lots and on-Libe stores have them. I had one, but it didn’t make the cut when downsizing.Yes, I know you are so good at giving links to others (thank you!) but there were about 6 different places you could buy the chair.Good luck!Verna, Columbus, IN

I like a director’s chair with the fold out table, but I have grown dissatisfied with going through two chairs per year.I bought two Harbor Freight director’s chairs (they only come in geeen—not my favorite red color), but they are lasting—great! $19.99 each. At that price, they can only last one year but they are on their second season (at home on my deck right now) and still look good.A few years ago, I bought two GCI chairs that folded up into themselves as about a 2’ square about 3” thick. Great idea. They both broke within 6 months. No more of those $60 chairs.Camping World’s director’s chairs lasted one season. Walmart’s director’s chairs lasted one season. Camping Worlds pneumatic rocking chair didn’t like Arizona’s sand (I should have known).Anyone who knows me well, knows I don’t abuse my equipment, so I will not take the blame for the chairs failing. So, I know you didn’t ask, but these are what didn’t work for me and the inexpensive one that is surpassing the others.Verna, Columbus, IN

I always take my gravity recliner. It fits perfectly in the back seat of the truck with the seats folded down. I have found too many times if I can't elevate my feet in the evenings, my ankles are really swollen. I also have the folding bag chairs with hard arms from Sam's (sold seasonally). Bring those for going to the potluck

After years of just run of the mill "Walmart" chairs I just ordered a pair of Nemo stargazer chairs, big sale at REI though tomorrow. 25% off, still over $300 for a pair! Backordered now, but hopefully be worth the cost and wait. I did try them last summer when TWD was in Oregon.2019 T@B 400 Boondock Lite

@N7SHG_Ham
We bought one from REI as well, was a good price for this chair.
Set it up for the first time yesterday and my wife seems to like it. I found it a little to restrictive for my arms due to the way the vertical support poles come up, but I'm a bigger person at 6'2", so it's one of those YMMV things.2025 T@B 400 Boondock Black Canyon with 400Ah Battle Born and Victron Multiplus 3000

We have the Nemo Stargazer Deluxe chairs and absolutely love them. ( @N7SHG_Ham you’ve made an excellent choice.). The ground does not have to be level for them, you can sit upright, lean back, and even gently rock in them. You can deploy the headrest, or tuck it away. They are expensive, but worth it. The only downside we’ve found with them is that an ember from the campfire can quickly melt a hole in the mesh fabric (don’t leave them unoccupied around the campfire!) We also carry two Kelty camping chairs in case we have company.

+1 On the Stargazer Deluxe. I asked the same question to the forum last year (link below) and now we have 3 or 4 differing pairs, but really believe the Stargazer takes the cake. Like sitting in a comfortable hammock swing... just anywhere you plop it down. Easy to carry, and easy to set up. Bit expensive, but if you can watch for the REI sales you can get a bit off if you act quick

Withing the last couple of weeks my FB is getting deluged with ads for the stargazer chairs. All the same pictures but different company names and all listing for $9.99 to $12.99. They are all scam companies when you start to track their names. A while ago it was laser engravers that go for at least $1000 and they were selling them for $25.2006 RAM 1500 4 door, 2016 T@B 320 MAX S

Bought one of those expensive folding rockers with the pneumatic tubes on the bottom but find I more often use the cheaper folding chair I got at Costco because it has a flip out table on the side to put my dinner.Tab 320s Boondock

We have 4 of the Harbor Freight directors chairs with the fold out tables. Bought them from someone on FaceBook marketplace. 2 were slightly used and 2 were brand new. Worked great the first few times I used it. Then one time I really wanted to relax in it I got in and 3 of the plastic joints snapped and it was an Americas funniest home video moment.
Since I got it used I don't know how old it was, and heat and sun does a job on plastic here in FL.
When it worked it was comfortable. I was thinking about getting another one, but the bed of my pickup already looks like the Beverly Hillbillies going down the road.2006 RAM 1500 4 door, 2016 T@B 320 MAX S

Helinox Sunset and beach chair. Super light and packs well in the front dinette seat of 2018 400. Kind of pricey but really comfortable. I am tall 6’5” and it it tough to find a light chair which supports and has sufficient weight capacity.2018 T@b 400, 200ah Lithium with Solar
