Regular 320S wheels and tires on a 2021 Boondock

We need an inch or two to get our new 2021 TAB 320 Boondock into our 96"-high garage. We can let air out of the tires or maybe we could replace the big OEM Boondock wheels and tires (15-inch ST235/75R15) with regular Tab S 320 wheels and tires (205/75/14). Any reason that won't work or is a bad idea?

Welcome to our Family.

@BOatguy just completed an axle swap, removing standard installing Boondock pitched, and he has kept the 14-inch wheels. Reference:

Overall T@B 320 height difference between the 14-inch and 15-inch wheels is around ~ 1.5 inches.

There is another owner/member that uses Rims without Tires to allow winter months storage in his garage. { just a thought }

My preference would be small rims for garage entry vice changing original equipment. Check out Northern Tool. They’ve got a nice trailer rim assortment. Or give the excellent customer service folks at ETrailer a Call.

Did it! 2021 Tab 320 Boondock and 2020 Outback XT (TC = 3500 lbs). Two-car garage with 96" door. Deflated to 20 lbs and reinflated to 35 lbs inside garage. Will have to deflate and reinflate again when we take it out. Mileage on maiden trip from Bend to Dayville over two passes each way was about 22 mpg, vs 32-34 w/o trailer.

NICE! Man, that just makes the XT even more tempting. I’ve been leaning towards the Ascent *just in case* I want to someday upsize the trailer, but I may need to keep pondering on that.

And mega congrats on a relatively easy solution to the garage issue. Deflating is way easier than changing wheels and tires.

I have a 2022 version of the same car and am looking at the 2022 version of the same trailer! My garage door opening is exactly 95 1/2" . Hoping the same solution works for me!

Hope it works! Good news for us is that we have moved and for some reason our trailer rolls right into our garage without us having to deflate the tires. We are down to one car and use it as a music practice studio in the winter. Our Yamaha keyboard just fits.

I also have a set of 13 inch tires that came off a T@G and I do believe they will work.

I bought a Tacoma V6 to pull my 320S Boondock and not too please with the transmission shifting up and down plus gas milage is in the pitiful range. Sort of wish I'd bought an Outback to pull with. Surely MPG is a little better and the comfort level should be better plus, when camping it''d be easier to scoot around in the Outback than Tacoma. Ah well, live and learn.

I tow my 21 Tab 320S Boondocker with a 22 Subaru Outback XL also. Someone recommended installation of secondary fan on transmission. I haven't done that but I did get my transmission fuild changed before towing this summer as recommended by someone hear and the dealer agreed. Have you done any of these things?

I had the dealer switch out the 235-75-15" tire/wheel set to a standard trailer wheel/tire set that is 205-75-15 and the 2022-320S-BD now fits through my 95-1/2" garage door opening. Big plus is that the 205-75-15 is a standard size and readily available!
