My wife and I recently purchased a 2021 T@b 320s. We are avid cyclists and look forward to exploring new trails. I know a lot about submarines, power plants and sailboats, but RVs are a whole different game. I'm still learning the acronyms. Anyway, I've spent some time on the message board and have been very impressed with the knowledge and courtesy expressed by the community. I look forward to learning from you guys and helping others as I get some experience.

Welcome and happy trails to you and yours! I suppose a 320s could feel a little like a small submarine-you've got my imagination going!

Welcome @Radcat! Well, it seems like some other owners have sailboat experience and it helped them a lot! You are off to a good start!Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

Welcome... former nuke pwr plant specialist? We need one to shrink a design down to a few cu.ft. since we're always discussing batteries & solar here... it's never enough.
A few of most common acronyms used here...
A/C = air conditioner
AC = alternating current
BLM = Bureau Land Mgmt
CC = carry capacity
CG = campground
COE = Core of Engineers
DW = dearest wife
DH = dearest hubbie
GAVR = not breaking axle limit
GVWR = max all loaded limit
NFS = National forest service
NP = National park
SP = state park
TV = tow vehicle
UVW = dry weight
WDH = something other trailers use2021 Jeep Gladiator, 2021 tiny toy hauler, Austin TX

I thought T/V was tow vehicle and TV was television. :-)
Before there were so many upgraded solar and battery options, this was the sort of thing we used to discuss at length to amuse ourselves. See discussions here and here (both of which, incidentally, agree with @DougH's definition of TV...)2015 T@B Max S (320)

Here is a pic of the USS Parche the way she looked in 1978 when I got out. Several mods were done over the yearspthomas745 said:Welcome to the Forums.Please send pic of your submarine!

Whoa! Don't search wikipedia for the Parche if your Top Secret Clearance is not up to date, everyone. That is a famous boat!Thanks for the picture!

When I first steped on board the T@b, I had a couple of thoughts. First, I was impressed by the fit and finish. Yes, I have read a lot of posts and there may be some issues down the road, but Nucamp has a rep for standing behind the product. My second thought when I stretched out on the right side (starboard) bunk was, this is like coming home to the good old 683 in the 31 person bunk compartment. Home sweet home.

I conducted a non-scientific poll of T@B owners a while back and a good 30-40% are boat people. My theory is that people who have spent a lot of time on boats/ships don't freak out when they open the door and step inside.Radcat said:When I first steped on board the T@b, I had a couple of thoughts. Welcome aboard Radcat. Ex-submariner here as well. SSN 613, 1979-85. The good ole days. The T@B bunk is amazingly like being back on the boat.

I reported aboard in '74 with a few other guys in Charleston SC when the boat came out of new construction. We were the first non-plank owners. After some local ops and a med run we changed home port to Mare Island; Vallejo, home of the legendary Horse and Cow. I'm in the Tampa Bay area now.Marceline said:

So you went through the refueling in Mare Island? Bet you spent some time in the Horse and Cow. I can't remember when they relocated to Bremerton. I've still got one of Looby's business cards around here somewhere. -
Oh ya, I spent plenty of time in the Horse and Cow. I'm sure most people dont/wont believe the stories we could tell about it.
Spent quite a bit of time in Mare Island and always enjoyed it for the most part. Went through an overhaul in 84 there as well as significant time there between 80-83. Had some friends on the Parche as well.

Don't recall that one, but it's been over 40 years. I probably landed there at some point. Some Angels would come into the H&C occasionally. There was a rest room facility hanging above the starboard side of the bar that had a few .357 holes reportedly complements of one of the members. I remember one patch holder, Marvin, who offered to let me ride his bike one night. I thought to myself, what is one of the worst things you could do in the world? Answer, wreck a Hell's Angel motorcycle. I felt honered, but politely declined. And you are correct. Most H&C stories are best left to private conversations with former patrons. I checked out their website; they now claim to be a family friendly place. Not so much back in the day!xdr said:Oh ya, I spent plenty of time in the Horse and Cow.
