Battery

Just looking for some information/knowledge from the group. We have a T@b
320 Boondock (2018). We had the dealer fit it with two batteries.
Attached is a picture of one of the batteries and the other battery is
the same size and make but just has the two positive (?) and one negative wires.
Just wondering about all the different wires, cables and what they all
do? When we disconnected the other battery there was a short red wire not attached to the terminal-that is how it came from the dealer-not sure why? I know these are naive questions, I am not a battery wiz, but just
trying to better educate myself and learn more on how to take
care of our T@b. Does anyone else have this configuration? Can you use
just one battery if necessary if you have this configuration and how
would that work? I appreciate your input!

Hard to see in your photo. Assuming they are two 12V batteries? Or, are they two 6 volt? The battery voltage would determine whether the batteries were wired in "series" or "parallel". So....which is it? 6V or 12V? The battery should be marked for it. (A picture of both batteries at the same time will show everything needed to solve your mystery.)The wires on the battery in the picture: black wire is the negative battery cable. On the right: the positive battery side: the green/red wire with the battery fuse in the little holder is the positive wire to the trailer. (Trace that plastic wiring harness the wire goes into....it is heading to the battery switch along the back of the propane box. The other "red" wire on the positive post is the solar port wiring. The harness that wire goes into will head toward the driver's side of the trailer to the little "solar" port there.So.....you detached the "short red wire" from this battery?

Or 2 12v batteries wired in Parnell electric. Here is a diagram.

I suspect the short, red wire may have been for the solar port - just trace it back to see where it leads.

The batteries are 12 volt. This is the other battery-I am assuming this is the correct set up? Thanks for your help!

Then the batteries should be wired in parallel to get more amp. hrs, out the them. Yes, you can also just use one at a time, if you want. You can get a marine A/B/both/off battery switch, and hook it up to select either battery, both, or off. This is a normal setup on a boat’s house battery bank where two batteries are used.

@Mherson50 - I think the extra negative and extra positive go to your solar port on the side of the tub. Can you confirm? You may have to remove then replace some loom to figure things out. Do you have solar or an inverter?Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

Thanks for the input. I have had everything hooked up as above and seems to be working great. I do not have a solar system.
