T@B 320 S Alde Heater Overflow

My heater is intermittently purging glycol out the overflow drain. I have "burped" the unit even though it is supposed to do it on its ow and ensured the reservoir is filled to just at the minimum.  Does it even when the unit is level. I have to keep adding fluid. Any ideas?

    The automatic bleeder valve may be stuck open.  When this happens, glycol runs out the black air bleeder tube.  Try giving it a couple of good wacks  to dislodge the stuck valve.  The other thing is, check your glycol pump settings.  It should be 1-1.5.  If too high, glycol will churn and get sent out the clear overflow tube.

    Thank you! That sounds promising. Now I just have to locate the pump setting thingy. :)

    Welcome, @Patnhal. 

    Following up on Sharon's comments, what are you actually referring to when you say the "overflow drain?" Do you mean the black tube from the air bleeder assembly or the overflow hose from the expansion tank? Either can spill glycol, but the solution will differ depending on the source of the leak.

    If you look at the document I posted here, there is a section with photos that describes how to adjust the pump speed. It may depend on your specific model and configuration.

    Well, clearly I have no clue what I am speaking about. I only know the glycol reservoir level keeps dropping and the fluid is coming out of a black (1 Inch?) tube on the driver's side near the rear. Sounds like the bleeder tube based upon your description. Thank you for the information and link. Happy Trails
