Storage Mod

We like the storage back behind the bed but thought it needed a slight modification. So instead of only one opening we made it into 3. So much easier to be able to set items on the top and yet still access other areas of the storage without having to move everything off the lid.

May want to put magnets on each and back wall to hold them open when looking for something. Looks great

    Definitely something I am considering.

What measurement did you cut it at and where did you get the pull tabs and matching hinges? The cut looks thin also what do you use?.  It looks very good.

17 3/4" - Made sure the cuts were right over the interior dividers. Very thin trim blade on mitre saw. The hinges I got from https://westwoodscabinethardware.com/products/pair-of-amerock-antique-brass-1-1-2-full-inset-butt-hinges-bp2335-ae?_pos=1&_sid=94e165dc3&_ss=r

    The pulls were from https://thecraftsupply.com/product/hafele-plastic-mortise-recessed-round-pull-cabinet-handle-55mm-2-1-5-diameter/

If my 2022 model didn't already come with 2 hinged lids for that area, I'd have wanted to do this.

I love it. What a great idea.  I need to do something similar.  I really like the three section idea.

I agree that some way of locking the doors in the open position is needed.  My wife hurt her finger when the door closed on her.

Anyone come up with a way to do this? Magnets seems like a good option.
    Thanks

@elbolilloWell that was somewhat an exercise in futility. I found some nice antique hinges,  much different than the originals but would work, but can find anything like the plastic recessed pull and the craft supply company doesn't ship to Canada..I'll keep searching but may have to find another solution

To keep our iPads and phones off the counter, we found this pull down basket.  Just installed and can’t wait to try it!

I finally got the recessed pulls. ended up ordering them to a friends in TN and had a plan for a visit. Just back home now...1 more question did you do any pre-glued Iron on edging that is available to cover your cuts?

No. Just made the cuts with tape over the lines to prevent any chipping. With a sharp blade on the saw the edges are very smooth.
