Best lubricant for Keder rails?

The search function here is poor and I prefer more up tot date recommendations anyway. Silicone spray or something else, getting https://pahaque.com/collections/trailer-shades/products/t-b-320-trailer-awning-silver-black-trim which seems like the best of both worlds, not too hot but offers shelter from wind and rain.

My experience is the Visor (for example) 'jams' during installation due to the 'cable end' hitting a screw head.
    No lubricant will fix that . . . .

@MuttonChops CCC has a newer model with the better keder rail/flatter screw heads, so that should be less of an issue.

@CCC I use silicone spray (WD40 silicone, to be specific) as per other recs here on the forum. It made quite a bit of difference, though like MuttonChops, I have the raised screw heads to deal with.

I highly recommend Boeshield T-9.  It is pricy but it won't attract dust and grit like WD-40.  It is wax based rather than petroleum based.

I have considered replacing the screws to eliminate this issue as it is very annoying.   My 2009 Dutchman T@B did not have this issue.

    Hi,

There is a product called sailkote that is used to help sails slide in a similar slot.  Works real well to help sails with a bolt rope slide in the groove.  It’s a dry lubricant.

We used Lemon Pledge furniture spray....it was recommended to us by others and works great.

I removed each screw in the Keder rail, one by one, and countersunk each hole.  Screws now sit nearly flush.

I sprayed teflon into the rail.  Slides through with ease now.

Did you have a small CounterSink bit to fit between rail or did you use a drill?

I am doing this soon but my Countersink bits are too big I need to find a smaller one.
