Security Cameras

Wanted to be able see outside and around the T@B at night.  Already had a backup camera system installed on the rear of the T@B ($249 on Amazon).  Came up with this solution using that same two camera back-up system.

The blue arrow shows the back of the T@B, the yellow the front and two sides:

Rear camera location.  Was previously wired to the taillight.  But that only works while hooked up with the TV.

Second camera mounted on the rear of the TV:

Second camera power supply.  Its always hot, even with engine off, so can be used at night:

Bracket made for TV camera.  Goes between tailgate glass and door frame. Cannot be removed because of the shape.

Hole drilled in Yakima rail to access area behind Jensen speaker, passenger side:

Entry point of camera wire in speaker cabinet area.  Note it's about 1" above the factory Yakima installation bolt:

Blue arrow = camera wire, yellow = Yakima installation bolt:

Wiring for new 12V RV plug (next photo) and camera ties into the LED side light above the speaker:

New RV plug for the camera monitor.  Will be adding another one on the driver's side:

The system is 12V and uses very little power.  Can be left on all night, or turned on as needed.  Monitor can view one or two cameras at a time.  System has a two camera limit.  Night vision is black and white.  Will field test and report back.

Fortress T@B! I won't ask what other devices you have to employ if you spot a nefarious interloper...  :-0

My first idea was a portable moat with small (camping sized) alligators.  Apparently some parks frown on that.

Did you try piranhas @Tabaz ?  More discreet than alligators, but just as potent..! 😁

After someone tried to abscond with the TAB, decided it was time for some interactive security. Purchased a BLINK Outdoor security camera ($50.00).  Set it up today and am very pleased with the operation, notification signal if someone approaches the TAB and simplicity of set up.
    Just another layer of security.

Amazon is running a special on Blink cameras.  Five for $189 (50% off).  Today and tomorrow only.  Allegedly runs for two years on two AA batteries.
