Alde Expansion Tank Connections

I'm doing a Rhomar exchange of fluid in my Alde system and am puzzled about the connections to the Alde expansion tank. On my system connection B goes to the Alde heater via the circulation pump, connection A goes to the bathroom, then the seating area, then the kitchen, then the bed and finally to the Alde heater.

I'm assuming that fluid flows to the Alde first, and is thus from connection B. If that is the case, why isn't it connected to the recessed portion of the tank at connector A? It would seem that you'd want to use the recess to minimize the chance of getting air into the system, should the glycol level drop.

Am I missing something?

@rh5555, your assumption is correct, and consistent with the diagram @Freespirit posted.

Why the inlet (A) is lower than the outlet (B) remains one of the great T@B mysteries! :-)

In some images the outlet is shown on right, in others the left, but the recessed inlet is always directly below the filler cap.

The higher connection goes directly to the pump. Just a guess, but it might be that any sediment would have less chance of being drawn into the pump.
