Tire Covers

I realize this may be a silly question to ask, but I have terminal analysis paralysis.
I just put new tires on my trailer. My trailer lives on the south side of my house and, as such, is subject to sunlight (when it is present, hello Seattle!!!). I want to protect my new tire investment and put covers on them.
What features should I look for (or avoid) in tire covers? I have never bought these before and there are way too many choices out there. And, yes, I did search the forum, but mostly got "matches" that did not actually address my question.
Thanks from Seattle (where it is currently cloudy--go figure!).

I just put new tires on our 2021 400 as the stock ones were beginning to crack already. While not entirely due to sun (the inside-facing sidewalls were cracking too) I should have had them covered. So I purchased these as they have a reflective fabric and they don’t drag on the ground. They have clips to secure them at the back but it’s a little hard to crouch down and clip them together. Aside from that they feel like decent quality.MOONET Tire Covers for RV Wheel (2 Pack Silver), Oxford Waterproof UV Sun Protectors for Motorhome Boat Trailer Camper Van SUV,D74cm x H28cm for Diameter 27"-29" https://a.co/d/5Nq2yse2021 400 BD

I live in Mobile Al. Very hot place and my T@b is not covered anywhere including the tires. The sunlight down here is bad. This is my second 320 never had a tire problem. I can't speak of the amount of tire black which gives some protection in the tires but as I am older see no need to cover them. I do however move the trailer to prevent big flat spots in one area. If you have any type handy cap I sure do not recommend it! Just my 2 cents Art.

@manyman297 thanks for the recommendation. I can see how that would be awkward to fasten on the back.2018 T@B 320 S Boondock | 2015.5 Volvo XC60 T6 AWD | Seattle, WA, USA

In the old days we would cut a bit of plywood the, flat on the bottom and cut it fit in the wheel well, to cover the sides of the tires, to protect them from sun damage. Today, there are quite a few tire rubber protector products that just spray or brush on the tire’s sidewall to protect them.

I've seen the plywood thing around here, as well as covers. I always wondered why people put plywood in front of their tires -- for a long time I thought maybe they were concerned about neighborhood dogs "marking" their RV.

I use these. I don't bother connecting the strap at the bottom. They go on pretty easy. I forget the size I bought, so measure before buying.

I notice this model does not have any sort of strap or connection on the back. Do they stay on well?2018 T@B 320 S Boondock | 2015.5 Volvo XC60 T6 AWD | Seattle, WA, USA

This is what I bought for my 400 as it's outside, up against the house on my rv pad: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0769CZ14G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
In the winter, I put them both on and also cover the trailer. In camping season, I just put the tire cover on the one side the sun hits it. My neighbors noticed their trailer tire that had sun hitting it was faded after a few months, compared to the other one.
There is a chart you can match up your tire size. It's loose fitting and touches the ground slightly, easy to slip over the tire. I get some high winds in winter and they stayed on just fine. I did put mouse traps next to the tires, on the inside, in case some mouse thought the cover would make a nice home (and I caught a couple)!Debbie in Oregon

I'll second the opinion and the the link provided by @dsfdogs, I have the same covers (size M) for my 2022 400 BD. There is elastic sewn in and it easily can be put on the tires. It stays on nicely and even remains in high winds. In a trailer I had before the T@B I had the kind with elastic straps you had to lay down to be able to clip it together. Never again.
