2017 320 CS air conditioner needs charging

We typically camp at altitude or w/o electrical or water/sewer hookups (live in SE Colorado) so we have never used our a/c unit since buying it used in 2021.

However, a college reunion in Oklahoma - and eye popping motel rates - led us to an RV park, just in time for 108 degree temps.  We survived by opening the side windows, cranking the vent fan on high... and sweating a lot.  Cold front arrived in the wee hours thankfully?

How do we charge our little Kenmore Model 253.87050?  Says "R410A: 10.58OZ" on the label.  (This was a rental T@B before we bought it in 2021 from the previous owners who bought it from the dealership, if that makes a difference.)

    You don't, you buy a new one. These are run-of-the-mill window air conditioners which are typically the same size (just check to make sure).

    If the A/C unit lost its charge it has leaked out so recharging alone it won't fix it.

    A 5000 BTU Frigidaire has been a popular replacement as it has a digital thermostat.  If you go this route, read up on how to optimize the air intake and outflow using deflectors as well as insulating around the inside trim.

    Thanks Sharon!  Depends on how much warm weather camping we do this year (likely not much).  Various other repairs/mods first in line.
