360CS measured weight and tongue weight

Hi,

I took our 360CS to a Cat scale and weighed it. I directly weighed the tongue, then filled the water tank.

Trailer weight was 3060 lbs. Tongue weight was 330 lbs with empty water tank and 369 lbs with the fresh water tank filled.

I always heard the tongue weight would possibly decrease with a filled water tank, but obviously that depends on the position of the tank.

Not sure where the 360 tank is located, but the 320 and 400 models tank is over the axle and doesn’t contribute to tongue weight.

Maybe something has changed on the 400 , but I can confirm that on our 2024 400 , the fresh water tank is well behind the axle . Its pretty much cant get any further back than how its positioned on our 24 . The location is basically directly under the rear bed.
I know this because I had to remove the underbelly to find a water leak . NuCamp put a screw right through the drain hose for the fresh water tank between the tank and the drain valve . Was surprised to see the tank so far back actually . After learning that , we only travel with about 10 gallons of water in the tank instead of filling it .

@BOatguy - have you measured the effect of a full tank on tongue weight? Wonder if that was done and offset an excessive tongue weight,

No , we have never measured it . I added the 400ah upgrade , and that added some weight to the rear , so Just to be safe we never fill the water tank full when traveling more than a few hours away . I would say I was shocked that the entire fresh water tank was mounted well rearward of the axle . I should have taken a picture of the water tank .......... just took a picture of the "hole" in the water line.

BTW, Thanks @Yoshi_TAB for the info on the 360CS . Its hard to believe that the 360CS is pretty much the same weight as the 400 . Numbers dont lie !
Wonder where they are putting the fresh water tank on the 360 ?
The regular 360 is slightly leaner , but not much !

OUCH - I lifted the back of my truck 1" higher then the front to compensate for our 297lb tongue weight - guess you'll have to get your TV sorted out

The 360CS is very tail-heavy. I have had trouble getting tongue weight on it, what with all that weight in the back.

With all my gear loaded and full fresh water tank, I got 3400lbs on the trailer axles - but this was on a road scale, and hooked to the truck. I have a tongue weight scale which I am planning to use next time we load up to see how it fares.

I really wish those were reversed. With the CS I feel like the could have been reversed, because there is fresh water consumers and grey water producers both at the front and the rear of the trailer - and I am generally more likely to try and carry around a load of fresh water for longer than I would gray. But on the plus side - with the cassette toilet, we actually use very little of the tanks.
