New style TMV repair

I am trying to figure out the innards of the new shark bite TMV. Looking at other posts I was able to get off the top nut area that holds the thermostatic workings. But in doing that two pieces came off and I’m not sure where they go back in. Looking at the picture below of the exploded innards top to bottom you can see the top nut, it’s O ring, the upper spring and it’s end, the central part that has the thermostatic expansion part and nylon channels for left/right water inputs. Then I show a open metal O ring on one side and a plastic toothed part on the other side. Then the lower big spring.
I am not sure where the open metal ring goes and where the plastic toothed part goes. I don’t believe the metal O ring is broken and am wondering if it snaps somewhere in the toothed plastic part, altho I haven’t been able to get it on there. Also wondering if the plastic toothed part goes on top of the central part below the upper spring part, or on the bottom above the bottom spring.
I haven’t been able to find any diagrams online that show the innards of this TMV.
